Maria Alexa

Hi, I’m Maria Alexa. I’m happy to be part of the MUR models family. I’m from Craiova, currently living in Calarasi, a city in south-eastern Romania, at about 10 kilometers from the Bulgarian boarder. I’m a big fan of historical documentary series.

When I was a kid I was wearing my mom’s high heels pretending I’m walking on runaway. I used to tell everyone that I’m a super-model. One day I followed the MUR models account on Instagram. A week later I got a message from the agency’s scout inviting me to the office for and interview. In the beginning I was a bit skeptical and I decided to postpone the meeting. But the scout was writing me every week until I decided to go and have the meeting with the agent. All went well and here I am, sharing my modeling story with all of you.

My first test shooting was really nice. It was such a special moment in my life. The photographer, Dragos Burcea, made me feel safe and confident. It was a simple test shooting with no makeup or hair styling done. They were trying to get the best shots of me and explained which my best angles are. I changed few outfits and in the end everyone told me I did really well.

The best thing of modeling so far is that people in the industry appreciate me for what I am, natural and genuine. They make me feel special in every project.

Most of photographers I worked with, have a huge sense of humor. I appreciate this a lot because I think modeling should be fun.

My first project was a TVC for a fast-food chain. This was funny. I thought why did they choose me? I’m so naturally skinny. Maybe they thought I don’t eat enough?! J I also had the chance to be part of the YSL LIBRE launching show, in Romania. I feel proud about it. Yves Saint Laurent is one of the biggest inspirations of all times.

My favorite models are Adriana Lima and Sean O’Pry.

My clothing style is a mixture between comfy but sexy girlish items. There are moments when I feel I want to wear short skirts and crop tops and other moments when I feel more into sportswear.

I have mix feelings about social media. Since I became a model I understood how important our presence on these platforms is, in order to promote our work. Before that I was paying attention to all of the influence-rs presenting their luxury lifestyle, luxury outfits, and luxury vacations. It’s so important to understand social media and to use it in your own benefit. Not to let yourself be just another follower in an ocean of followers. Follow creative and inspiring people, let yourself inspired and try to build your own career in order to inspire others.

If I could have a superpower it would be the ability to fly. My favorite superhero is Batman.
