Hi! My name is Camelia and I’m from Bucharest, Romania. I have a passion for economics and fashion, which led me to pursuit a career in modeling after someone gave me a push to do it.

I was on vacation when I got a text from the MUR models scout. She asked me if I was a model, and if not, if I would like to pursuit a career in modeling. I have always loved seeing the girls walking down the runways and many people encouraged me to become a model, so that text message was the push that I needed.

I was so excited to do my first test-shoot, a little nervous too. It was my first glimpse of what being a model really means. We shot a couple of outfits, changed my make-up and I had so much fun that day. I learned a lot about posing and about me.

Best in modeling so far is that I discovered things about me; I learned things that maybe I would not have known and I’m grateful for that.

I usually try to find the photographer’s style and try to see what I can learn before the shoot. Every photographer is unique. As a model, you just need to keep your mind open and pay attention to all indications. You never get bored on set. The result might be one photo but in order to get that unique photo taken the model needs to move a lot, from dance movements to real gymnastics. For instance, there was a photographer asking me to dance like a ballerina and to do some moves with my partner, even though neither of us was a professional dancer.

I was lucky. My first jobs were for big brands: an advertorial for Armani Beauty and a catwalk for YSL Beauty. I was so excited opening the show that I could barely breathe.

My favorite model of all times is Naomi Campbell, the way she carries herself with such elegance, it is clear that’s the definition of a supermodel.

I see social media as the perfect tool for promoting my work. As we already know, social media is a full time job for so many content creators. However, it is mandatory to get some guidance in order to understand it clearly. There are two options: either you try to inspire other people with what you do either you remain a simple viewer. Social media without proper guidance might be quite dangerous for young people.

If I could have a super power I would love to have the ability to fly without being necessary to book tickets, check-in, wait in line for boarding and so on. It would be easier for me during fashion week.
